Clearwater International Denmark acted as exclusive financial advisors in the structured sale process of Skalflex A/S.

Founded 40 years ago by Hans Søndergaard Larsen, Skalflex is a producer of building materials and has established a leading position as a specialist within façade solutions, mainly for the renovation of buildings in Denmark. It has grown continuously over the years, expanding its product range into façade insulation as well as other new quality products for masons and the Do-It-Yourself markets.

As a world leader in the construction chemicals market, PAREXGROUP provides specialty dry-mix solutions for the construction industry. Its products – façade coatings, ceramic tile setting materials and technical mortars – are used in the new construction or renovation of buildings. In 2014, PAREXGROUP generated revenues of €783 million with 3,676 employees worldwide.

Clearwater International partner Kai Bech Andersen and director Carsten Rydahl Simonsen advised the vendors on the sales process, during which some of the largest industry players showed high levels of interest in Skalflex.

“We are delighted to welcome PAREXGROUP as the new owner of Skalflex. With the change in ownership, we have gained an internationally strong partner in Parex Group (FRA), who can help bring new high-quality products to our existing highly recognized product program and further assist in the continued successful growth of Skalflex. The management team is very much looking forward to continuing under the new ownership and adding further value for our customers.”

Poul Jensen, CEO of Skalflex

“With its high degree of expertise and its solid presence in distribution, Skalflex is a good strategic fit for PAREXGROUP. It reinforces our global façade business and offers a growth platform in a new country thanks to the vast product portfolio of the group. We expect to grow the Skalflex brand and we warmly welcome the management and the employees of the company into the PAREXGROUP family.”
