Clearwater International has advised Normal on its sale to Anders Holch Povlsen

Clearwater International has advised the shareholders of Normal A/S (Normal) on its majority sale to Anders Holch Povlsen, owner and CEO of Bestseller, with current owners reinvesting significantly.

Established in 2013 and headquartered in Skanderborg, Normal is a market leading retail chain offering its customers branded consumer goods at low fixed costs within personal care, food, cosmetics, cleaning, and pet food amongst others. The Normal concept is focused around a clear customer perception of fair pricing, below market value on branded home and personal care (HPC) products and a vision to make the shopping experience an adventure by continuously introducing new brands and interesting products. The company has shown impressive growth rates with more than 50 store openings in Denmark in 2016 alone and the expansion is set to continue in 2017.

The Clearwater team was led by Partner Søren Nørbjerg and Associate Partner Jakob Tolstrup Kristensen with support from Associates Casper Norre and Klaus Stenild Hansted.

“We are preparing for an international expansion, and we will succeed in this with a strengthened ownership and capital structure.”
