Calrec Audio Ltd, a leading manufacturer of audio production equipment for broadcasters, has been acquired by premium audio/visual equipment provider D&M Holdings.
Clearwater International advised Calrec on the deal, which will help to enhance the company’s growth by providing it with greater economies of scale and opportunities for cross-selling. Calrec, which employs 106 people in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, produces audio mixing consoles that are capable of handling the most complex live and outdoor broadcasting events. Established in 1956, the company has won numerous awards and played a pioneering role in the broadcast industry.
Calrec sells its products worldwide through a network of distributors. Clients include the BBC, ITV, NBC, CBS, Fox, MBS and Asahi. The company has significantly increased its market share in the past few years following the introduction of a suite of new digital sound desks.
