Simon’s new brief at Clearwater

Corporate lawyer Simon Henderson has joined the Manchester office of Clearwater Corporate Finance as an assistant director.

Simon’s new role will involve building on his extensive corporate transaction experience and legal knowledge to add an extra dimension to Clearwater’s innovative approach to deal-doing.

He will also use skills gleaned from his recent 15 month international MBA at Edinburgh University, focusing on finance and entrepreneurship, to advise clients and contribute to Clearwater’s deal initiation activities.

Simon, aged 31, joined Clearwater from solicitors Maclay Murray & Spens in Edinburgh, where he was a senior corporate solicitor advising on the buy and sell side of merger & acquisition and private equity transactions.

Simon has advised on more than 50 transactions including; Infinite Data Storage Limited, MicroEmissive Displays Limited, Arrow Therapeutics Limited and Q-One Biotechnology Limited. His experience also encompasses a wide range of business sectors, such as residential care, retail, technology, biotechnology and fish farming.

He obtained his diploma in legal practice from Edinburgh University after gaining a law degree at Dundee University.

“I wanted to join Clearwater because the team is ambitious and motivated, with the experience and industry clout to be justifiably recognised as leaders in innovative coprorate finance.

“Their high degree of transaction exposure and wide sector spread also appealed, as there is a close fit with my own background and skills.”

A former territorial army officer, who enjoys skiing, running and golf, Simon is currently relocating from Edinburgh to Hale, near Manchester.

Clearwater partner Mike Reeves added: ” we are always keen to add quality people to our team. As an accomplished lawyer, with entrepreneurial and financial knowledge, Simon’s appointment represents the perfect opportunity to further extend our scope for innovation and creativity”.
