Clearwater Corporate Finance has appointed John Gahan as a director at its Birmingham office.
John has over 12 years’ experience of international acquisitions and has also held a number of senior finance roles in industry. During his career he has advised large corporates, owner-managed businesses and private equity firms, with a particular focus on the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
A qualified chartered accountant, he spent ten years with KPMG in Birmingham where he was a senior manager in its Transaction Services team managing due diligence assignments in and outside the UK.
He went on to spend six years with global manufacturing and engineering company GKN plc, in several senior roles including four years in Asia as Driveshaft Division’s global business development director and its regional finance director. He was also a board director of GKN’s leading driveshaft businesses in the region and has extensive experience of doing business throughout Asia.
Phil Burns of Clearwater says: “One of the key trends in the past few years in the deals arena has been the growing number of cross-border transactions. Clearwater is well placed to advise on these through our international network.”
“John’s appointment will help to further strengthen our cross-border capability. His extensive knowledge of the international mergers and acquisitions market and his experience in industry make him a very valuable addition to our team.”
