Clearwater International have introduced the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) as a funder to the construction phase of the €800m Manchester Airport City project.
Manchester Airport City is a UK government-backed plan designed to stimulate the Greater Manchester economy by creating on-site logistics, manufacturing, office and leisure facilities over the next 12 years. The expertise provided by the firm’s specialist China Desk meant that Clearwater International was able to identify and introduce funding partners for the project.
With links to China proving increasingly important for the region’s businesses, Airport City is expected to encourage airlines to launch a direct service between Manchester and the Far East, while boosting trade links between the two nations.
Michael Reeves, CEO of Clearwater International, said: “Clearwater is a truly international organisation, with extensive knowledge of growth potential across the globe. With our dedicated team of experts on China, we were pleased to have been able to introduce the right partners to the project.
“Manchester Airport is already the busiest outside of London, and with expectations to double its passengers by 2030, this is certainly an area where the region has huge potential to take advantage of in the coming years.”
