Former private equity boss to become chairman of Clearwater

Clearwater Corporate Finance has appointed financier Graham Hallworth, a former partner in private equity firm Alchemy, as its non-executive chairman.

Graham, who was also recently been appointed chairman of Crown Paints following its acquisition by investment fund Endless, has over 20 years experience as a businessman and private equity sponsor.

During his career he has held board-level positions in companies including timber panel distributor Sylvan International, industrial products business Wardle Storeys, tenanted pub chain Innspired, retail jewellery business Goldsmiths plc and the Bridgewater Hospital, a private hospital in Manchester.

He spent five years with Alchemy, and was earmarked to become CEO of car manufacturer Rover during the firm’s proposed takeover in 2000.

Clearwater partner Mike Reeves said: “Graham has wide experience in improving both performing and underperforming businesses and an in-depth knowledge of mergers, acquisitions and the needs of private equity firms. He will assist us with the continued growth of the firm and the further development of our service offering into restructuring and debt advisory work.”
