Accomplished deal-doer Ben Wilson has joined Clearwater Corporate Finance’s London team, adding extra momentum to the firm’s growth in the capital.
The appointment is part of Clearwater’s ongoing strategy of recruiting key people to help expand its service offer across London and the South East.
Ben, aged 27, has taken up his position as a manager with a role that includes advising on buy-outs, sale mandates, development capital, and corporate acquisitions.
He joins Clearwater from accountant Baker Tilly’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity team in London, where he was involved in a number of venture capital-backed transactions and disposals which enabled him to gain valuable experience in the retail and media sectors.
After studying economics at Manchester University, Ben qualified as a chartered accountant with Tenon and spent two years in its corporate recovery department. He specialised in independent business reviews, administrations and receiverships across a variety of sectors including manufacturing and business services.
Clearwater London partner Marc Gillespie commented: “Ben coming on board will help us to continue building a London-based team of top-notch professionals. Our London office means we are the only independent corporate finance house with complete geographical coverage of the UK, and one of only a handful of corporate finance teams operating a regional office structure and providing a fully joined-up service.”
Ben added: “I’m delighted to have become a member of the Clearwater team because the firm’s reputation in the corporate finance arena is second to none. Working alongside some of the country’s best corporate finance advisers, with truly formidable track records, represents a major career opportunity for me to grow with the firm.”
Ben, who lives in Clapham, South London and was born and raised in Leicestershire, enjoys playing golf, snowboarding, and reading, as well as ‘getting out of the house’.
