Clearwater International advises Monoprix and Naturalia on the acquisition of Serpent Vert

Clearwater International has advised Groupe Monoprix and its subsidiary Naturalia on the acquisition of Serpent Vert, an organic products retail chain in Alsace, from family shareholders.

Created in 1973, Naturalia is one of the leading French retailers in biological products, with a network of 56 fully-owned stores (3 openings in 2011 in Antibes, Marseille and Lyon).

As a complement to its internal growth strategy (8 to 10 new stores each year), Naturalia completed (with the help of Clearwater International) its first external growth operation by acquiring Serpent Vert network.

Founded in 1983, Serpent Vert is a major brand name in the organic retail sector in Alsace. In collaboration with the founding family, Naturalia will now be able to increase its number of stores.

Thanks to its advisory role to Monoprix and Naturalia, Clearwater International reinforces its experience in the retail sector.

The Clearwater International team was led by Philippe Guézenec

“Clearwater International identified this major platform in Alsace and advised us during the whole process with the sellers. Naturalia confirms through this acquisition its strategy of regional development, notably in the East of France.”
