April saw the completion of 6 deals in the UK healthcare market. An interesting announcement this month was CBPE’s acquisition of Medica Reporting Ltd, from Nuffield Health, for an undisclosed amount. Medica provides and operates the largest UK remote teleradiology reporting services network. CBPE is backing current management’s expansion plans to make their solution available to UK hospitals, which will help improve care offered to patients.

Another interesting announcement this month was Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) who has agreed a £50m funding deal with Apache Capital Partners, the London and Bahrain based real estate investment management firm. The funding will enable the development of up to eight five-star care homes under the MMCG brand, with a £6.7m 53-bed care home in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, set to be the first project.

Deals

Glaxosmithkline PLC acquired Okairos AG for a consideration of £214m. Glaxosmithkline is a UK-based pharmaceutical, biologics, vaccines and consumer healthcare company. Okairos is a Switzerland-based biopharmaceutical development services provider.

MedicX Fund acquired seven fully let and operational primary care medical centres for a consideration of £45m.

Optimum Dental Group acquired 1st Dental Products Ltd for an undisclosed amount. 1st Dental is a UK-based dental clinics operator.

Ambu A/S acquired First Water Heathcote Ltd for a consideration of £1.2m. Ambu is a Denmark-based company that develops produces and markets diagnostic and life-supporting equipment solutions to hospitals and rescue services. First Water Heathcote is a UK-based hydrogel manufacturer.

CBPE Capital LLP acquired Medica Reporting Ltd, from Nuffield Health, for an undisclosed amount. Medica Reporting is a UK-based radiology remote reporting company.

Vision Express (UK) Ltd acquired 12 optical stores from Crown Eyeglass plc for an undisclosed amount.
