Clearwater’s James Ward picks up ‘Young Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year’ award

In an extremely competitive category Clearwater Corporate Finance has picked up another award to add to its trophy cabinet.

James Ward, who was recently promoted to Director with Clearwater, was last night awarded ‘Young Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year ‘by Finance Midlands Insider magazine.

Ward’s accolade comes on the back of his involvement in major deals including the £25 million MBO of Pimpernel International, the disposals of E&JW Lake Limited to Grafton plc and The Sandwich Factory to Cranswick Plc, as well as the raising of development capital for Pharmaceutical Profiles.

Just three weeks ago, Clearwater partner Paul Newell picked up the Private Equity Award’s ‘Financial Adviser of the Year’ (sponsored by the British Venture Capital Association) on the back of his transaction skills for the £22.2 million buy-out of Sunway Travel from Mytravel Plc.

Head of Clearwater in the Midlands Phil Burns said this was a terrific achievement for James and a testament to the transaction skills of Clearwater. “Our congratulation go to James – he fully deserves this recognition and it’s great to see one of our rising stars achieve such an accolade. James stands out because of his “make it happen”attitude to deals and his ability to initiate his own deal flow. He was up against some tough competition so all credit to him.”

Clearwater are currently reigning champions in five industry awards. As well as the two latest awards, Clearwater’s Manchester office are the North-West’s Advisory Firm of the Year, and in the Midlands the team have won Top Corporate Finance Adviser and overall Top Corporate Finance Dealmaker awards.
